I grew up in a small village in the north of England and left my secondary school with 5 GCSE’s. At this point I had a moment of realisation that if I wanted to progress into the career I dreamed of that I needed to really focus on my education. With my improved attitude towards learning, a lot of hard work and determination I succeeded in gaining A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics with Statistics.
I attended the University of Huddersfield where I studied Applied Chemistry and gained my BSc (Batchelor of Science) in 1986. I joined the Ministry of Defence as a XXX in 1998 and chose to continue my studies with a Masters Degree in Chemical Analysis at Greenwich University. With my Masters degree I chose to move jobs, spending the next 18 years as a Research Scientist for a leading pharmaceutical company.
I developed a strong desire to aid those starting on their educational journey and in 2010 I completed my PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) at the University of Portsmouth. I have been lucky enough to teach to A students to A level standard in all the subject areas I am offering to Tutor in, not only in the UK and on the Isle of Wight (where I am a current Secondary School Teacher) but also to Foreign Students in a range of locations.
My ethos is to provide evidence based, real life application of the syllabus to help those who want to learn, who have through what ever reason found they need a little extra support. The end goal being to ensure that for each and every Tutee I have input that they are able to reach the highest level of success that is attainable by them.
